Phaeton from Veer

A recent addition to my font library has been the beautifully ornate Phaeton by Kevin Cornell. A gorgeous collection of letterforms, catchwords, swash variants and ligatures.  Read more about the making of it here.

Studio Makgill

Lovely clean print identity work from Studio Makgill. I also love the the GPC Visa Annual Report – how to create something visually stunning on little or no budget. Inspiring stuff.

Amazing portfolio of work from this Australian designer, currently working at Marilyn & Sons in Melbourne, but moving to London in the new year. I particularly some of the university projects he has included.

It was these wedding invitations on Scout Holiday that first took me to David Rager’s portfolio site. He has some really amazing work on there which shows a diverse range of styles. I love his posters for NYU.

Creative Chicago

I have a big thing for Chicago (I got engaged there last September) so am always on the look out for agencies and design companies that are based there. Obviously we all know about Threadless and their amazing t-shirt designs. Personally, I love the Type Tees and this is my current favourite.

I love the fluidity of navigation on Plural’s site and I thought this poster was pretty cool. Found on Fleuron.

And how amazing is the interior of Segura Inc’s Chicago office? The MD does have a background in interior design so it’s easy to see why.

And they have some awesome stuff in their portfolio. I really like the series of posters they created for The Alternative Pick.

a-side studio

I was on holiday in Cornwall last week and picked up a lovely flyer for the Acorn Arts Centre in Penzance. On closer inspection I realised it had been created by A-Side Studio, a personal “design hero” of mine. It’d be a dream to live down on that beautiful part of Britain and still get to do amazing design for big name clients such as Jamie Oliver, Ford and the National Trust aswell as small Cornish brands like Origin coffee, the Cornwall film festival and MARK – a furniture and lifestyle company.
